Caring for yourself or a loved one with a disability takes everything you have. The routines, the appointments, the daily logistics, they add up to a pressure that quietly turns into burnout. You might be running on empty, or you might be a participant who needs a change of scenery to reset. Without a proper break, the small wins start slipping and the bigger goals feel further away.
The Homestead out in the country, and Cypress Avenue by the beach.
3Bedrooms at the Homestead
Single storey, beside the lakes, horses and the daily lorikeet feed.
1Standard of care
Same personal care, meals and activities at both places.
Short Term Accommodation gives you that breathing room. At GCDAY we offer comfortable, fully supported stays that work as respite for families, a confidence boost for participants, or both at once. You get a few days or up to two weeks of guided independence in a setting that feels less like a service and more like a holiday with the right people around you.
What's involved
01
The Homestead
Rural and grounding. Our Homestead is a single-story, three-bedroom house tucked beside lakes, horses, and a daily lorikeet feeding routine that has a funny way of slowing your nervous system down. You get a master with ensuite, two bunk rooms, a bathroom with both a spa and a shower, a fireplace in the lounge, a gas stove kitchen and breakfast bar, an outdoor entertaining area, a double carport, and a caretaker on site. The Historic Rivermill is a short walk across the road. Up to four participants can stay together, so it's ideal for friends doing a respite trip in tandem.
02
Cypress Avenue
Beachside and bright. Our Cypress apartment sits a stroll from Budds Beach, with cafes, restaurants, theme parks, and Broadwater boat cruises all within easy reach. The one-bedroom apartment includes a master with ensuite, a spacious living and dining area, a gas stove kitchen with breakfast bar, and a balcony with water views. The complex has a swimming pool, BBQ, and outdoor entertaining. It suits participants who want a luxury short stay with everything close by.
03
Built-in support
Both locations come with the same level of personal care, meals, and activities you'd have at home. Our team builds skill development quietly into the day, whether that's cooking a new meal, navigating a local outing, or settling into a new routine. Short Term Accommodation is funded through your NDIS Core Supports budget, and we can help you work with your planner to include it if it aligns with your goals.
You come home with the kind of rest that sticks.
